He began studies at the Madrid Royal Conservatory when he was 11. His patron was Princess Isabella of Bourbon who was Queen Isabella II of Spain’s daughter.
He was honored with the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X, the Wise, as well as the French Legion of Honor.
